Tadjeri Soelaiman, his full name. He is 95 years old. He is one of seven Covid-19 patients who have been declared cured and allowed to return home. Previously, Tadjeri had been isolated and treated at Rusunawa Nipah Kuning since two weeks ago. Before returning home, the Mayor of Pontianak, Edi Rusdi Kamtono, took the time to provide gifts and moral support to those who had just recovered from Covid-19.
"Healing is not only for patients who are young, even elderly people like Mr Tadjeri can recover," said Edi Rusdi Kamtono, Thursday (3/12/2020).
Until now, there are 40 Covid-19 patients who are still undergoing isolation treatment at Rusunawa Nipah Kuning. On average they underwent isolation between 10 and 14 days, except for those who were symptomatic.
"We hope that those who have recovered can become ambassadors in conveying the importance of implementing health protocols," said Edi Rusdi.
Edi also hopes that the cure rate for Covid-19 patients can be increased faster. By providing regular care, starting from medication, diet, exercise such as exercise and basking in the morning sun. Edi appealed to residents to keep their spirits up that this virus can be combated by implementing health protocols and increasing body immunity.
"I hope Pontianak City residents will remain vigilant and obey health protocols so that new clusters do not emerge," he said.
Meanwhile, Head of the Pontianak City Health Office Sidiq Handanu reminded that the key to healing Covid-19 patients is immunity. The body's resistance is influenced by the mind. So that if you are not stressed, always happy and never afraid, it is believed to be the biggest factor in healing.
"Of course, with a good mind, behavior such as eating and other activities will not be disturbed," he said.
Sidiq said that when he first arrived, the 95-year-old patient was very weak. Then asked to be picked up at home so that he could receive treatment at the Nipah Kuning Rusunawa until his condition continued to improve. At the time of entering the Rusunawa, the patient lay down approximately two weeks ago.
"The age factor is indeed important to the risk. However, if the age factor is not accompanied by comorbids, such as obesity, diabetes and hypertension, then the risk is low. This patient, if from a physical aspect, is not obese, this father (the patient is cured) looks like he is Just enjoy it, so it's not stressed and it's not afraid, "he explained.
One of the causes of decreased body resistance is the mind. From the aspect of prevention, every patient who is confirmed positive for Covid-19 must be isolated. Then for those who have been quarantined both at home and in isolation, what must be considered is not stressed.
"As long as there is no vaccine to prevent the Corona virus, the strongest thing to fight is the body's resistance. Because with immunity there will be immunity to fight the virus," he said.
